Explosion-proof
STANDARD: ABNT NBR-IEC 60079-1

ex d
Type of protection in which parts which can ignite an explosive atmosphere are confined in an enclosure capable of withstanding an internal explosion without allowing it to propagate to the external environment.
ENHANCED SECURITY
Protection method based on suppression of the ignition source, applied to materials that under normal operating conditions do not produce arcs, sparks or hot surfaces. During its construction phase, measures are taken to protect it under foreseeable overload conditions.
STANDARD: ABNT NBR-IEC 60079-7

Ex and
NOT ASCENDABLE
STANDARD: ABNT NBR-IEC 60079-15

ex n
In this type of protection, the equipment does not have enough energy to ignite an explosive atmosphere under normal operating conditions and it is also unlikely that, under specified fault conditions, it will be able to ignite this atmosphere.
INTRISIC SAFETY
STANDARD: ABNT NBR-IEC 60079-11
former

A circuit is intrinsically safe when it is incapable of releasing sufficient energy under predefined test conditions, under normal or abnormal conditions, to ignite an atmosphere. This technique depends, primarily, on limiting the amount of energy that can be sent to the classified area. In this way, it can be stated that it is a concept that has application in the concepts of the design of the device or installation
